Sam and Colby on Netflix: Release Date, What to Expect and Why It Matters

Halloween just got a lot spookier. After a run of cryptic social media teasers, YouTube’s ghost-hunting duo Sam and Colby have confirmed their jump to Netflix.

Sam and Colby: Overview

What to Expect?

The duo investigates the world’s most haunted places, hunting for paranormal evidence to answer one big question: are ghosts real? It’s the same formula that helped them build a huge following over more than a decade, starting on Vine before moving to YouTube and expanding across TikTok and Instagram.

Fans got a hint days earlier when the pair thanked their community in a teaser post and promised “2 major announcements” coming soon. One was their annual “HELL WEEK” event. Now we know the second.

Why Is Netflix Signing YouTubers?

Sam and Colby are the latest in a growing trend. Netflix has been partnering with top creators throughout 2026, including:

• Rhett & Link: Good Mythical Morning and Mythical Kitchen arrived on September 7.
• The Amazing Digital Circus, with a day-and-date streaming deal.
• The Besties, which recently confirmed a move too.
• Kids’ creators: Ms. Rachel, Mark Rober, Danny Go!, ChuChu TV and more.

The logic is simple. Younger audiences spend huge chunks of screen time on YouTube, so Netflix hopes they’ll stay after finishing a favorite creator’s episodes and discover its other shows. These deals are also often non-exclusive, so creators keep their YouTube presence.

Should You Watch?

If you love true-crime-style spookiness, haunted locations and Halloween binges, this looks like an easy pick. Since it’s a collection of existing-style episodes, it works well for casual viewers too.
