YRF’s musical drama Saiyaara is rewriting box office history with its unprecedented performance overseas. The film’s Monday collection has left industry experts stunned, as it defied conventional wisdom by matching and even exceeding Saturday numbers – something virtually unheard of in cinema business.

Breaking Box Office Records: The Numbers Don’t Lie

On its fourth day, Saiyaara collected a staggering USD 675K (₹5.75 crore) overseas, pushing its total to USD 2.65 million (₹22.75 crore). What makes this extraordinary is that Monday collections typically drop 60-70% from Sunday, but Saiyaara actually performed better than Saturday in many territories.

Territory	Monday Performance	Comparison to Weekend
Australia	AUD 75K (Best day of run)	Surpassed Sunday
UK	GBP 77K	25% above Saturday
North America	Matched Saturday levels	No drop from weekend
Middle East	Equaled Saturday	Defied sharp weekday drop trend

Why Saiyaara’s Success Matters for Bollywood

The film’s performance is being compared to Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, which previously held the record for best international trending. According to Box Office India, Saiyaara has outperformed RARKPK in most territories except the United States.

This phenomenon suggests a significant shift in how international audiences consume Indian cinema. The sustained weekday performance indicates strong word-of-mouth and repeat viewings – crucial factors for long-term success.

What’s Next for This YRF Musical?

Industry analysts predict Saiyaara will cross the USD 4.50 million mark by the end of its first week. With Tuesday being discount day in several markets and strong pre-sales already visible, the momentum shows no signs of slowing.

The film’s second weekend is expected to outperform the first, though the release of Fantastic Four might impact screen availability in some markets. Conservative estimates suggest Saiyaara will comfortably cross the USD 10 million milestone overseas.

The Bigger Picture: International Market Trends

This success reflects the growing appetite for Indian musical dramas in international markets. As reported by Variety, Bollywood films are finding stronger footing overseas, with musical genres particularly resonating with diaspora audiences.

Recent box office analysis shows that films with strong emotional content and musical elements are performing exceptionally well in markets like Australia, UK, and North America – exactly where Saiyaara is excelling.

Expert Predictions and Market Impact

The unprecedented Monday hold has caught industry veterans off guard. Trade analysts suggest this could signal a new pattern for how quality content performs internationally, regardless of conventional release patterns.

With advance bookings strong for Wednesday and Thursday, Saiyaara is positioned to challenge several overseas collection records for Indian films in 2025.

Conclusion

Saiyaara’s box office journey represents more than just numbers – it’s a testament to changing audience preferences and the power of quality musical storytelling. As the film continues its remarkable run, it’s setting new benchmarks for how Bollywood content can perform in international markets.

The question now isn’t whether Saiyaara will succeed, but rather how high it can soar in defying every traditional box office expectation.
