Ryu Jun-yeol Agency Switch: K-Drama Star Leaves UAA to Join Galaxy Corporation With G-Dragon & Taemin

Big news from the Korean entertainment world. Ryu Jun-yeol is reportedly parting ways with UAA (United Artist Agency) after just one year and is in serious discussions to join Galaxy Corporation, home to some of K-entertainment’s biggest names. This agency transition marks another significant shift in the actor’s career trajectory, and the implications are massive.

Ryu Jun-yeol Agency Shuffle That Nobody Expected

On June 29, 2026, reports confirmed that Ryu Jun-yeol’s exclusive contract with UAA has officially expired and he’s negotiating with Galaxy Corporation to become their newest A-list talent. While UAA issued a brief statement saying they have “nothing to comment regarding a possible agency transfer,” they’re continuing to support the actor on his current productions. Galaxy Corporation, however, has remained silent—classic corporate strategy when dealing with high-profile talent acquisitions.

This isn’t just any agency change. Galaxy Corporation is the powerhouse home to G-Dragon (BIGBANG’s leader), Taemin (SHINee icon), Song Kang Ho (Parasite star), and Kim Jong Kook (Running Man legend). If confirmed, Ryu Jun-yeol would be joining an elite roster of entertainment icons.

Why This Matters for Ryu Jun-yeol’s Career

Ryu Jun-yeol, best known for his iconic role in the beloved K-drama “Reply 1988,” has been on an impressive trajectory. His move from UAA to Galaxy Corporation signals a strategic pivot toward larger-scale productions and international reach. Galaxy Corporation’s track record with managing global superstars suggests the agency sees massive potential in Ryu Jun-yeol’s future.

The actor’s Netflix involvement is key here. He’s currently awaiting the release of the highly anticipated Netflix series “Mousetrap,” where he stars alongside acclaimed actor Sul Kyung Gu. He’s also been cast in the Netflix original series “Outback” (working title), indicating his commitment to the streaming giant’s content pipeline.

Current & Upcoming Projects: Netflix Is Betting Big

Ryu Jun-yeol’s Netflix presence can’t be overstated. With two major productions in the pipeline, he’s positioning himself as a key player in Korean content’s global expansion. Galaxy Corporation’s roster has always thrived in this international space—think G-Dragon’s global influence or Taemin’s cross-genre appeal. The fit makes strategic sense for both parties.

Galaxy Corporation: A Step Up or a Different Direction?

Galaxy Corporation isn’t just managing talent—it’s managing culture icons. The agency has mastered the art of international branding, cross-platform presence, and long-term career development. For Ryu Jun-yeol, this partnership could mean:

• Access to higher-budget international productions
• Strategic positioning for award-season campaigns
• Stronger negotiating power for Netflix and premium content deals
• Global brand partnerships and sponsorships

According to talent management in entertainment industry practices, agency switches at this level often indicate actors seeking better resources, higher profile projects, and more strategic career planning. Ryu Jun-yeol’s move aligns perfectly with this pattern.

Neither party has officially confirmed the transfer, but in entertainment journalism, where there’s agency smoke, there’s usually career fire. The clock is ticking on an official announcement—likely coming within weeks as new contract terms are finalized.

Until then, fans and industry watchers should expect radio silence from both UAA and Galaxy Corporation. That’s how these negotiations work. But one thing’s certain: Ryu Jun-yeol’s next chapter in K-entertainment is shaping up to be his biggest yet.
