The Gripping Premise

Run Away follows Simon Greene, a father whose comfortable existence shatters when his eldest daughter Paige vanishes. What begins as a desperate missing-persons search evolves into something far more sinister. As Simon navigates private investigators, police detectives, and individuals from Paige’s hidden life, a connected murder transforms the investigation entirely.

The series explores family secrets, redemption, and the lengths parents go to protect their children—even when those children don’t want protection. Each revelation reframes earlier assumptions, keeping viewers questioning what really happened to Paige and why.

Stellar Cast Led by James Nesbitt

James Nesbitt headlines as Simon Greene, reuniting with Harlan Coben after previous Netflix collaborations. The ensemble includes Minnie Driver as Simon’s wife Ingrid, delivering the emotional complexity their fractured marriage demands.

Supporting cast features Alfred Enoch as Detective Isaac Fagbenle, Ruth Jones as Elena Ravenscroft, and Lucian Msamati as Cornelius Faber. Ellie de Lange portrays the enigmatic Paige, whose disappearance catalyzes the entire narrative.

The UK-based production maintains Coben’s pattern of British adaptations, joining previous successes like Stay Close, The Stranger, and Safe in Netflix’s growing library of his work.

Why Coben Fans Are Excited

Harlan Coben’s Netflix adaptations have become appointment viewing, consistently delivering twisty narratives that subvert expectations. Run Away marks his continued creative partnership with the platform, with Coben serving as executive producer alongside showrunner Danny Brocklehurst.

The novel’s exploration of parental guilt and unconditional love provides rich emotional territory beyond standard thriller conventions. Unlike some Coben stories focused primarily on plot mechanics, Run Away balances mystery elements with genuine family drama—a father confronting uncomfortable truths about his daughter and himself.

The Manchester filming locations provide atmospheric British settings that have become signature elements of Coben’s Netflix universe.
