RummyCulture Breaks the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the Largest Online Rummy Tournament

• The online tournament witnessed an unprecedented over 215,000 participants
• The previous world record held by the brand itself, hosted 109,000 participants in July 2020

RummyCulture, one of the country’s leading online skill-based rummy platforms from the house of Gameskraft, has created a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title feat after hosting its ‘Sunday Mega Blockbuster’ tournament on 19th March 2023; the largest online rummy tournament with an incredible over 215,000 participants hosted, at one time. With this, RummyCulture has broken its own world record that previously hosted 109,000 players in July 2020.

The team began this mission with the motivation of raising the bar across all aspects of the brand ranging from technological capabilities, player convenience and much more, alongside providing a unique entertainment experience to a growing number of online Rummy enthusiasts. For this, RummyCulture looked at strengthening the technological platform that could host a vast number of participants online from various locations. This achievement also comes as a significant milestone for the company’s talent and a testament to its mettle in overcoming challenges and scaling great heights of innovation.

A few of the challenges faced by the team were explored first-hand from a technology, business and marketing standpoint. With its cutting-edge capabilities, RummyCulture successfully ensured that the platform ran smoothly without any barriers or system crashes while hosting the event. The brand also brought together such a vast pool of participants via various marketing efforts including leveraging its in-app properties, push notifications, and other user touchpoints. From a technology perspective, a lot of efforts went into scaling the core gameplay system to seamlessly handle lakhs of concurrent players.
