Rs 40 Crore for 22 Days? Here’s What Akshay Kumar Is Reportedly Earning in Golmaal 5

Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal franchise has always been bigger than life — and Golmaal 5 just levelled up massively. Bollywood’s Khiladi, Akshay Kumar, has officially joined the Golmaal 5 madness, and the latest industry buzz about his remuneration is turning heads.

What’s Akshay Kumar’s Fee for Golmaal 5?

According to reports, Akshay Kumar is charging a jaw-dropping Rs 35 to Rs 40 crore for a short shooting schedule of just 18 to 22 days in Golmaal 5. Here’s the kicker — that’s reportedly more than what the film’s lead, Ajay Devgn, is taking home upfront.

Why Is Akshay Getting More Than Ajay?

Simple math — different deal structures. An insider confirmed to IANS: “Akshay Kumar is shooting for 18–22 days, and he is getting around Rs 35–40 crore, which is more than Ajay Devgn’s upfront fees because Ajay is on a profit-sharing basis.” As a co-producer, Ajay stands to earn far more once the film hits the box office — a smart long-term play from the franchise’s main man.

What Is Akshay’s Role in Golmaal 5?

Akshay himself cleared things up in a candid chat. He stated: “I’m happy that they think I was good enough to be a part of Golmaal. Ajay is the main hero. I’m not playing the main part. But what’s wrong with it? For me, it’s far more important what the film is setting out to achieve.” He also added that his role is solid, and there’s zero ego about playing second fiddle to Devgn.

His inclusion in the film was initially announced on Rohit Shetty’s birthday in March and was kept strictly under wraps until a behind-the-scenes video revealed his all-new look.

The Full Ensemble Is a Fan’s Dream

Golmaal 5 brings back the iconic cast audiences have loved for two decades — Ajay Devgn as Gopal, Arshad Warsi as Madhav, Tusshar Kapoor as Lucky, Shreyas Talpade as Laxman, and Kunal Kemmu. Sharman Joshi is also reportedly returning.

Rohit Shetty even dropped a nostalgia bomb recently — a video of Arshad and Sharman recreating their iconic race-car waving scene from 20 years ago.
