A casual lab tour, a baseball bat, a staring contest with a robot, and then a lab in total disarray. If that sounds like a strange recipe for romance, welcome to Between Steps, where ENA has just released new stills ahead of episode 2. Mild spoilers follow.

Where We Left Off?
Between Steps is a romance from the late director Ahn Pan Seok, known for Something in the Rain, One Spring Night and The Midnight Romance in Hagwon. In episode 1, Park Min Jae (Choo Young Woo), a former swimmer who lost his right leg to illness, and Im Yoo Jin (Kim So Hyun), a graduate student searching for a new path, kept crossing paths by chance and slowly drifted into each other’s daily lives. Yoo Jin had been studying fashion, but her meetings with Min Jae opened up fresh possibilities.
What the New Stills Reveal
| Still | What’s Happening |
|---|---|
| Lab tour | Yoo Jin tours the robotics lab with Min Jae’s colleagues and shows genuine curiosity |
| The bat | Yoo Jin holds a baseball bat while staring at a robot, hinting at trouble |
| The aftermath | The lab is in complete disarray and Min Jae looks visibly furious |
| The colleagues | Everyone looks bewildered at what just happened |
So, What Went Wrong?
The stills don’t say, and that’s the fun of it. The tour looks ordinary until something unexpected happens, leaving Min Jae angry and his coworkers baffled. Whatever happened, the incident is expected to change the relationship between the two leads.
Why This Moment Matters?
Robotics is Min Jae’s field of study. As Yoo Jin develops an interest in it, the two are expected to become more deeply involved in each other’s daily lives and career paths. In other words, this chaotic visit may be the turning point that pulls her into his world, and him into hers.
