Roma have reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain to sign Renato Sanches on a loan deal with a buy option. The midfielder joined PSG last season, and will leave after only one year with the French champions.
He has a contract until 2027 with the Parisians, but is likely to not get a lot of playing time this season. With Manuel Ugarte, Marco Verratti and more players ahead of him in the pecking order, he is being moved on to Jose Mourinho’s side, who are in need of reinforcements.
Renato Sanches to join Roma on loan for 22/23
This past season, the 25-year-old made 27 appearances across all competitions, scoring two goals but only playing for 905 minutes. He has now been deemed surplus to requirements by Luis Enrique, but could be an influential member of Jose Mourinho’s squad.
Renato Sanches managed to revive his career with Lille after a disappointing spell with Bayern Munich. And after a stop-start season with PSG, he will be taking on a new challenge with Roma.
The Giallorossi will be paying a fixed loan fee worth €1 million for the player. The buy option is valued at €15 million and will become valid if Sanches plays 60% of the games he is eligible to appear in for Roma.
He will be joined by Leandro Paredes, who is also on his way to the Italian capital.
