Redmi Turbo 3: Confirmed Launching in April with Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC

The company has officially confirmed the launch of the Redmi Turbo 3 in China. Initially, Redmi had hinted at introducing a series of smartphones without giving away many details. However, a recent announcement from Redmi has disclosed both the name and the expected release date of the device.

It is expected that this new model will continue the success of its predecessor, the Redmi Note 12 Turbo, which made its debut in March 2023. Interestingly, reports are suggesting that the phone will have a name when it is launched outside of China.

In a Weibo post Redmi unveiled that the Redmi Turbo 3 will be part of their Turbo” series and will be first released in China. While an April launch has been confirmed the specific date remains unknown. Internally known as “Little Tornado” this device is set to offer high-end features in a range package.

Redmi’s General Manager, Wang Teng Thomas further confirmed in another post that the Redmi Turbo 3 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC which aligns with hints regarding this new chipset being used across their smartphone range. Initial leaks had suggested that this device might be named as Redmi Note 13 Turbo.

Based on information leaks it is anticipated that the Redmi Turbo 3 will feature a 6.78-inch 144Hz 1.5K OLED screen and come equipped with a robust 6,000mAh battery supporting rapid charging of up to 80W through wired connections. There are rumors suggesting that it will operate on the HyperOS platform based on Android 14 and could potentially be introduced globally under the Poco F6 name.

In addition, Wang Teng Thomas outlined the company’s strategic vision, detailing a new product hierarchy based on a decade-long plan. This matrix positions the Redmi K series as a “technological performance flagship,” followed by the upcoming Redmi Turbo series marketed as “performance flagships,” aiming to redefine the mid-range performance segment. The Redmi Note series will continue to cater to the mid-range segment, while the Redmi number series will focus on entry-level smartphones.
