Earlier, Xiaomi had teased the launch of the Redmi Pad 2, a sequel to the three-year-old Redmi Pad. The initial teaser, featuring the tagline “Built for More,” suggested the tablet would offer a large display and a long-lasting battery.

Subsequent teasers further hinted at an enhanced multimedia experience and a lighter, more compact build compared to a laptop. Stylus support was also highlighted in promotional images. The global teaser showcased the tablet in two colour options, equipped with an 8MP rear camera, a 3.5mm audio jack, and confirmed the existence of a 4G-enabled model. Another teaser for the Wi-Fi variant revealed an additional Violet colour option alongside Mint Green and Grey.

According to listings in Europe, the Redmi Pad 2 will offer an 11-inch 2.5K 90Hz display with up to 600 nits peak brightness, a MediaTek Helio G100 Ultra SoC, a 5MP front camera, quad speakers, and a 9,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging. Pricing in Europe saw the 4GB + 128GB Wi-Fi model listed at €199 (around ₹19,395), while the 4G 8GB + 256GB variant was priced at €299 (around ₹22,320). Following its Indian debut, the Redmi Pad 2 will be available on Amazon.in, Flipkart, mi.com, and through offline retail channels.
