Redmi Note 9 and Note 9 Pro 5G launched in China: All you need to know

Redmi has finally launched its Redmi Note 9 5G and Note 9 Pro 5G in China. If we check the pricing, these phones fall into the category of the mid-range segment. So, without wasting any time, let’s just get into the specifications of the Redmi Note 9 and Note 9 Pro 5G one by one.

The Redmi Note 9 5G runs on the Android 10 OS and is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 800U chipset. Regarding the display, this phone offers a 6.53-inch Full HD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels) IPS LCD display having a standard refresh rate. This phone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The Dimensity 800U chipset of this phone is paired with two different RAM (6GB/8GB) and two different internal storage (128GB/256GB) variants. Now coming to the camera section, this phone offers a triple rear camera module which includes a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2 MP Macro sensor. For selfies, this phone has a 13MP selfie snapper at the front.

In terms of the battery, this phone is fueled up by a massive 5,000mAH battery with the support of 18W fast charging. Regarding the connectivity, this phone supports 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. This phone is supported by stereo speakers and most importantly, a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Coming to the pricing and availability, the Redmi Note 9 5G carries a price tag of CNY 1,300 for the base 6GB/128GB model, CNY 1,500 for its 8GB/128GB model, and CNY 1,700 for the highest 8GB/256GB model. As of now, the company hasn’t shared anything regarding the availability of this phone in the global market.

Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G:

The Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G runs the MIUI 12 which is based on the Android 10 OS and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G chipset. Regarding the display, this phone offers a 6.67-inch Full HD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels) IPS LCD display with a refresh of 120Hz and a touch sampling rate of 240Hz. This phone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The SD 750G chipset of this phone is paired with two different RAM (6GB/8GB) and two different internal storage (128GB/256GB) variants. Now coming to the camera section, this phone offers a quad rear camera module which includes a 108 MP wide-angle primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide sensor, a 2 MP macro, and a 2 MP depth sensor. For selfies, this phone has a 16MP selfie snapper at the front.

In terms of the battery, this phone is fueled up by a decent 4,820mAH battery with the support of 33W fast charging. The company claims that this battery will get charged from 0% to 100% in just 58 minutes. Regarding the connectivity, this phone supports 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, NFC, and an IR blaster. This phone is supported by stereo speakers and most importantly, a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Coming to the pricing and availability, the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G carries a price tag of ¥1599 (₹17,960 / $243) for the base 6GB/128GB model, ¥1799 (₹20,210 / $273) for its 8GB/128GB model, and ¥1999 (₹22,450 / $304) for the highest 8GB/256GB model. As of now, the company hasn’t shared anything regarding the availability of this phone in the global market.
