Redmi is expanding its Note 15 lineup with a bold new “Special Edition” and the timing couldn’t be more deliberate. The Redmi Note 15 SE 5G launches in India on April 2, 2026 at 12 PM IST, available exclusively on Flipkart and Xiaomi‘s official website — and based on everything teased and leaked so far, this one is gunning hard for the sub-₹20,000 sweet spot.

Specs, Design & What We Know So Far

The SE variant is largely expected to carry over the hardware core of the standard Note 15 5G, but it’s the design that’s doing the heavy lifting here. Three distinct colourways have been confirmed — Crimson Reserve, Carbon Black, and Frosted White — with the Crimson Reserve featuring a wine-red leather-like finish with a gold-toned frame that looks far more premium than its price tag should allow.

Specification	Expected Details
Display	6.77-inch curved AMOLED, 120Hz, 3,200 nits peak
Processor	Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3
RAM / Storage	8GB RAM, up to 256GB storage
Rear Camera	108MP primary + 8MP ultrawide
Front Camera	20MP
Battery	5,520mAh with 45W fast charging
OS	HyperOS 2 based on Android 15
Rating	IP66 dust and water resistance
Design	Ultra-thin 7.35mm curved profile

Price and Who It’s Up Against

Market analysts expect the SE variant to launch at a starting price of ₹19,999 for the 8GB+128GB base model — undercutting the standard Note 15 5G, which currently retails from ₹21,499. At that price point, it’s positioned directly against the upcoming OnePlus Nord 6 and Samsung’s Galaxy A37, making the sub-₹20,000 segment arguably the most hotly contested battleground in Indian smartphones right now.

Reports suggest this Special Edition draws inspiration from a China-exclusive Cherry Red variant, meaning the design work is already proven — Redmi is simply bringing it to India with a broader colour lineup and competitive pricing.

The camera module retains the squircle shape from the standard model, and with IP66 rating at this price, Redmi is clearly trying to offer spec-sheet wins that rivals at this tier can’t easily match.
