Redmi staged a massive launch event in China today, unveiling the latest Redmi Note 13 series phones and the Redmi Pad SE. The new Redmi Buds 5 were also unveiled at the event. The successor to the Redmi Buds 4 offers remarkable specifications for the price, including 46dB noise cancellation and a long-lasting battery life of 40 hours. In addition to Bluetooth 5.3 connection, the earphones include an ergonomic design.

The Redmi Buds 5 provides flagship-level noise reduction of up to 46dB.
The earbuds have a 2kHz wide-band frequency range and a three-level noise reduction depth as well as a three-level transparency mode. The hearables also provide twin mic AI noise cancellation for clear calling. The new Redmi earphones connect over Bluetooth 5.3 and may be set up using the Xiaomi earphones app.
Xiaomi emphasizes The Redmi Buds 5 have a separate acoustic chamber with a 1.6m precision wound coil and a 12.4mm extra-large high-polymer titanium-plated diaphragm. Netease Cloud Music hardware certification has also been granted to the earbuds. In terms of battery life, the Redmi Buds 5 are said to provide 40 hours of gameplay (when coupled with the case). With only 5 minutes of charging, the earphones should give 2 hours of audio playback.
In China, the Redmi Buds 5 costs 199 Yuan ($27). The AAPE edition earbuds are 299 Yuan ($40). They are not currently available for purchase outside of China.
