Redmi A1 with MediaTek Helio A22 SoC launched in India

Redmi has launched a new entry-level A-series smartphone, dubbed the Redmi A1, in India today. It was announced as part of the firm’s Special Diwali With Mi Launches. 

The Redmi A1 offers an HD+ display, a MediaTek Helio A22 processor, a dual-camera setup, and a 5,000mAh battery, among other features. Let us take a look at the Redmi A1 price in India, specifications, features, and availability.

Redmi A1 Specifications

Redmi A1 features a 6.52-inch LCD panel that offers an HD+ resolution and a standard 60Hz refresh rate. The display also houses a waterdrop notch at the top for the selfie camera.

For optics, the A1 has an AI-backed dual rear camera unit comprising an 8-megapixel primary sensor. For selfies and video chats, the phone features a 5-megapixel selfie camera sensor at the front.

The phone is powered by the octa-core MediaTek Helio A22 SoC, which is coupled with 2GB of RAM and 32B of internal storage. The internal storage is further expandable via a microSD card. The dual-SIM (Nano) A1 runs on Android 12.

When it comes to the battery, the A1 is powered by a 5,000mAh unit with 10W charging support. The handset supports more than 20 regional languages and offers a clean Android experience.

 It comes in Classic Black, Light Green, and Light Blue colour options. The A1 price in India is set at ₹6,499 for the single 2GB + 32B storage variant. The handset will be available for purchase in the country through Amazon, Mi.com, Mi Home stores, and Xiaomi’s retail partners starting September 9 at 4pm IST.
