Reborn Rookie’s Cast Just Said Goodbye, And Fans Are Already Tearing Up

Every great K-drama run ends with a goodbye, and JTBC’s Reborn Rookie just gave fans exactly that. Ahead of tonight’s series finale, the cast shared heartfelt farewell messages, closing out a story that clearly meant as much to them as it did to viewers.

What The Show Was About

Reborn Rookie follows Kang Yong Ho, the powerful chairman of conglomerate Choiseong Group, whose life takes an unexpected turn after an accident swaps his soul into the body of a young soccer player. Forced to start over as a lowly rookie employee inside his own company, the drama blends corporate intrigue with a fish-out-of-water premise that clearly resonated with audiences.

Cast Farewell Messages, Summed Up

Why This Farewell Feels Bigger Than Usual

Lee Jun Young’s goodbye carries extra weight, as he’s preparing to enlist in the military on July 21 — meaning this drama closes out one chapter of his career right before a real-life pause. He specifically thanked viewers who stayed up late following the drama’s late-night storyline, a detail that speaks to how devoted the fanbase became.

Jeon Hye Jin’s comment about being thanked for playing a character fans “hated” is a small but telling sign the show’s writing successfully built strong emotional reactions — often the mark of a well-received drama.

Reborn Rookie aired on JTBC, one of South Korea’s major cable networks known for producing acclaimed dramas across genres, and its body-swap premise gave the network another distinctive hit to add to its lineup.

When Does It End?

The final episode airs July 5 at 10:30 p.m. KST, with all previous episodes available to stream on Viki for anyone catching up before the finale drops.
