Realme plans to integrate user participation into its product design process

2021 has been an amazing year for Realme, the brand has continued to grow and has released several new products that have been received with 5-star reviews by the tech community. They have also diversified into laptops and tablets. It comes as no surprise that they now have 100 million global users, a goal they intended to achieve by the end of 2021.

Realme CEO Sky Li has published an article acknowledging the feat and added that in the Chinese market, the company was ranked first in terms of growth rate in the first half of the year.

Sky Li added that in the next three years Realme will be launching a ‘User Co-creation Program’ which allows users to deeply participate in the design process of the company’s smartphones and AIoT products.

While a dedicated program for user participation in the design process of devices is quite new and interesting, realme seems to be taking a leaf from its sister company OnePlus. During the initial days of OnePlus, the Pete Lau-led company relied heavily on user feedback to improve its smartphones and offer new features.

Realme has also set its next growth target of ‘Double 100 Milion’. The company is hoping to increase the sales volume of its smartphones by 100 million by the end of 2022 and again do the same in 2023. It will be fascinating to see if Realme does manage to achieve this new goal.

Earlier this year, in March, Realme revealed that it had around 70 million users, having sold 42 million smartphones last year. At the time, the company was aiming to have a global user base of 100 million users by the end of 2021. Realme has now achieved this deadline before Q4 of 2021.

Madhav Seth, CEO of Realme India and Europe had recently revealed that the company now has more than 100 million global users, out of which 50 million are from India, making it the biggest market for the brand.
