Real Madrid have been named Europe’s most valuable club for the fourth year running by the European Elite. The 35-time La Liga winners have been valued at €3.18 billion, and is the only club to exceed the €3 billion mark.

They are followed by Manchester United (€2.883m) and rivals Barcelona (€2.814m) in the standings. While Real Madrid’s value grew 10% this past year, they are yet to return to the heights achieved between 2016 and 2020. One of the main reasons behind it is due to the effect of the pandemic on the financial side of the club.

The report notes that Madrid was one of the few clubs in the world that remained profitable during the years hit by the pandemic. It is also worth noting that their continuous success on the pitch, and commercially, has helped them stay at the top for the recent years.

The re-opening of the Santiago Bernabeu will also allow the club to have a massive influx of revenue. This could give them another huge boost when competing with other clubs in terms of finances, as well as games in front of their home crowd.

Real Madrid have a huge chance to write a new chapter in their history, with a Champions League final meeting scheduled against Liverpool this Saturday. If they win, they will become 14-time Champions League winners – a record that is double their closest competitor.
