Team News and Lineups
Both clubs head into round one carrying unfinished business from last season. Marseille, sitting 11th, will be eager to reassert themselves at the Vélodrome, while Strasbourg — currently 17th — need an early result to settle nerves. Confirmed lineups are usually released around an hour before kick-off, so keep an eye out for the official team sheets closer to matchday.
Prediction
Home advantage and squad depth tilt this one toward Marseille, but Strasbourg have made a habit of frustrating bigger sides on the road in recent seasons. Expect goals at both ends. Prediction: Marseille 2-1 RC Strasbourg.
Head-to-Head Record
This fixture has been competitive lately —last season, Olympique de Marseille and RC Strasbourg played two games against each other, and neither side found it easy. Marseille’s home record gives them the edge on paper, but Strasbourg won’t make it straightforward.
