RB Salzburg announce Fernando’s signing from Shakhtar Donetsk until June 2027

RB Salzburg have confirmed the signing of Fernando from Shakhtar Donetsk on a permanent deal. The striker joins the Austrian club on a contract until June 2027, with a transfer fee worth €6 million paid to the Ukrainian club.

The club has confirmed the arrival of the Brazilian in an official statement on their website. He is currently training with the first team, but will only be eligible to play from the next season. The early agreement has been made possible due to the situation in Ukraine right now, which has pushed Shakhtar to sell some of their best players.

Here is what the player had to say about his new club: “I am overjoyed to be part of FC Red Bull Salzburg with immediate effect. It’s a big club that shines in the Champions League year after year. The last few months haven’t been easy for me, so I’m all the more excited to be able to attack here.

“In the talks with the sports director and coach, I felt that they really wanted me here. This trust is very important to me and I want to repay it. I am sure that I will quickly find my feet in this young team and that I will play my part in the success next season.”
