The buzz around Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda’s upcoming wedding is reaching a fever pitch — and now a candid comment from her Kirik Party co-star Pramod Shetty has added a completely unexpected twist to the story. Was there no invitation? Here’s the full picture.
What Did Pramod Shetty Actually Say?
Speaking to the media ahead of the much-anticipated nuptials, actor Pramod Shetty openly admitted he hasn’t received a wedding invitation from Rashmika. He said plainly that they already knew she wouldn’t be inviting them — and that it was nothing new. He took it in his stride without any bitterness, even throwing in a comment about his close friend and Rashmika’s former co-star Rakshit Shetty, assuring fans that Rakshit isn’t fazed either and will be back strong with his next project.
The comment went viral almost instantly — largely because of the shared history between Rashmika, Rakshit Shetty (her ex-fiancé), and Pramod, who has been a long-time collaborator and friend of Rakshit.

Why Does This Matter? The Backstory Explained
For those stepping into this story fresh — Kirik Party was Rashmika Mandanna’s 2016 Kannada debut film, directed by Rishab Shetty and starring Rakshit Shetty alongside her. Rashmika and Rakshit were in a relationship at the time, and were even engaged before parting ways. Pramod Shetty, a key part of that film’s ensemble, has remained close to Rakshit ever since.
The wedding is planned to be an extremely intimate affair with no Bollywood or industry colleagues — a separate industry reception is reportedly scheduled for March 4. So technically, Pramod isn’t alone; the film fraternity at large isn’t on the wedding guest list either. But coming from someone with this specific history, the comment landed very differently.
