Ram Charan Celebrates Peddi’s Box Office Victory Despite Mixed Audience Reviews on Social Media

Ram Charan’s latest sports action drama Peddi has become a defining moment in his career. Released on June 4, 2026, the film directed by Buchi Babu Sana sparked conversations nationwide, with fans and critics passionately debating its narrative choices. Yet, at the film’s grand success event, the actor delivered a heartfelt message that’ll resonate with anyone who’s ever felt misunderstood.

What’s the Buzz About Peddi?

Imagine a cricketer who plays for anyone willing to pay him—no loyalty, no passion, just money. That’s Peddi. But everything changes when he falls for Achiyamma, a sarpanch’s daughter, and meets Appalasuri, a villager fighting for decades to get their small village official recognition and a railway halt.

Driven by love and purpose, Peddi transforms from a mercenary player into a dedicated sportsman. Under the mentorship of Gournaidu, he embarks on a thrilling journey using his athletic talent to fulfill a community’s dream. It’s a story about redemption, sacrifice, and finding meaning beyond money.

Ram Charan’s Graceful Response

Despite the backlash over Janhvi Kapoor’s character portrayal and some creative choices, Ram Charan proved that true stardom lies in grace. At the success event with Chiranjeevi as the chief guest, he quoted Tagore: “Telugu people don’t easily like anyone, but once they do, they love them till death.”

His message? The film belongs to the audience, regardless of the noise on social media. He thanked viewers for embracing the movie despite polarized opinions—a refreshing attitude in today’s hyperactive digital discourse.

Director’s Honest Take on Criticism

Director Buchi Babu Sana didn’t shy away from feedback. In an earlier interview, he acknowledged: “I hadn’t anticipated those scenes would be perceived so negatively. The playful romance between Ram Charan and Janhvi was meant to be light-hearted. We’ll be more thoughtful about representation in future projects.”

This vulnerability from the filmmaker speaks volumes about the industry’s evolving maturity.
