A single insect bite has landed one of Bollywood’s most familiar faces in a hospital bed — and fans are only just catching wind of it.

Veteran actor Rajesh Sharma, recently seen in “Bhooth Bangla” alongside Akshay Kumar, was reportedly hospitalized in Kolkata after suffering a suspected poisonous insect bite while filming Prabhas’ upcoming period actioner “Fauzi” at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad.

What Happened On Set

According to reports, Sharma felt the bite after wrapping his shoot but didn’t seek immediate medical care. His condition reportedly worsened over time, with high fever, breathlessness, and a spreading leg infection eventually forcing his hospitalization.

His family doctor told NDTV it’s too early to make a definite assessment, adding that Sharma remains under close observation and isn’t yet out of danger. Meanwhile, his personal assistant offered a slightly different account, attributing the hospitalization to complications from diabetes that led to a leg infection requiring treatment.
