The event’s date was teased in a poster with the caption “Catch the next wave of mind-blowing innovation,” and interestingly, it’s happening a month earlier than the usual schedule, according to GSMArena. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip may feature a novel 1+5+2 core architecture, distinct from the current Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 series, which uses a 1+2+2+3 setup, as reported.

This potential configuration could include a single Cortex-X4 prime core, five Cortex-A720 cores, and two Cortex-A520 cores, all paired with an Adreno 750 GPU. Furthermore, the L3 cache memory is expected to increase from 8MB to 10MB. This chip will likely power the next generation of premium smartphones from a number of brands. According to reports, it will be offered in two versions: one for laptops and tablets and a second for mobile phones.

Manufactured using a cutting-edge 4nm fabrication process, this processor is anticipated to make its debut in the upcoming Xiaomi 14 series, possibly arriving in November. Additionally, it’s expected to be featured in other high-performance devices such as the Vivo X100 series, Redmi K70 series, iQOO 12 series, Realme GT5, and OnePlus 12.

In related news, the current 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile platform boasts a clock speed of up to 3.36GHz and utilizes a 64-bit architecture. It supports advanced features like Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, a primary camera with up to 200MP resolution, and 8K video recording capabilities.

Speaking of the current offerings, smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, Xiaomi 13 Pro, OnePlus 11, and iQOO 11 are equipped with this processor, offering users a premium experience, albeit at a higher price point.
