Priyanka Chopra Joins Hrithik Roshan for Krrish 4; Filming Set to Commence in Early 2026

The return of India’s beloved superhero universe is finally in motion. Krrish 4 is no longer a distant dream — the project is gaining momentum with Priyanka Chopra confirmed to reprise her iconic role as Priya.

With Hrithik Roshan stepping into the director’s chair, this chapter marks a new dawn for the genre-defining franchise. Fans can expect not just nostalgia, but a cinematic spectacle that blends tradition with technological innovation.

Hrithik Roshan Steps Up as Director for Krrish 4

On March 28, 2025, it was revealed that Hrithik Roshan will be directing Krrish 4, carrying forward the legacy of his father, Rakesh Roshan. This creative shift brings a fresh perspective to the franchise, which began in 2003 with Koi Mil Gaya. With Hrithik at the helm, expectations have skyrocketed for a film that not only delivers high-stakes drama but also remains emotionally grounded.

Backing this vision is Yash Raj Films, headed by Aditya Chopra. The collaboration between the Roshan family and YRF signals a strategic alliance aimed at making Krrish 4 a global cinematic event while staying rooted in Indian storytelling values.

Priyanka Chopra Returns as Priya

After months of buzz, it’s now confirmed — Priyanka Chopra is back in Krrish 4. The actress will reprise her role as Priya, further extending the journey that began with Koi Mil Gaya. Her on-screen chemistry with Hrithik Roshan has always been a hit with audiences, making her return a seamless decision.

“Hrithik, and Priyanka are a successful pair and have an excellent work relationship. It was more of a no-brainer for PC to come on board Krrish 4, as the story continues the journey of characters from Koi Mil Gaya to Krrish, Krrish 3, and now the fourth instalment. The actress was bowled over by the vision of Hrithik Roshan to take the franchise forward, and was ecstatic to see him take over the challenges of directing the film,” a source close to the production revealed.

YRF’s YFX Team Powers Krrish 4’s Visual Universe

Pre-production for Krrish 4 is already in full throttle at YRF Studios. Their in-house visual effects division, YFX, is crafting the visual framework through detailed pre-viz work. This step ensures that the visual storytelling of Krrish 4 is well integrated into the narrative structure, instead of being an afterthought.

“There are some projects which are designed keeping VFX in mind, but Krrish 4 is a film where the inception of VFX stems from the story, which is magical. Pun intended,” added a source involved with the production. This focus on story-driven effects promises an immersive and organic viewing experience.

Jadoo’s Return Brings Full-Circle Nostalgia

One of the most exciting revelations about Krrish 4 is the return of Jadoo, the iconic alien character from Koi Mil Gaya. After a 23-year hiatus, Jadoo will once again be part of the universe, introducing a multi-generational link that ties all the films together.

With this narrative arc, Krrish 4 not only caters to long-time fans but also opens up the story to new audiences, blending emotional depth with sci-fi elements.

Biggest Superhero Project of Indian Cinema Begins in 2026

Filming for Krrish 4 is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2026. The film is already touted to be among the most expensive ventures in Indian film history. With a combination of futuristic technology, heartfelt storytelling, and the return of fan-favourite characters, Krrish 4 aims to redefine what an Indian superhero film can achieve.

Casting is currently underway, with more announcements expected in the coming months. Given the legacy of the previous instalments and the involvement of key industry powerhouses, the anticipation surrounding Krrish 4 is at an all-time high.
