Priya Prakash Varrier: From Viral Moment to Serious Actress

Beyond the viral sensation, Priya has steadily carved out a niche for herself in the film industry. She has featured in films across multiple languages, including Dhanush’s ‘Nilavukku En Mel Ennadi Kobam’ and Nithiin’s ‘Check’. Her recent performance in Ajith Kumar’s ‘Good Bad Ugly’ has once again set the internet ablaze, proving she’s much more than a one-hit wonder.

The Good Bad Ugly Breakthrough

In her latest film, Priya recreated the iconic Tamil song ‘Thottu Thottu Pesum Sultana’, sending fans into a frenzy. Speaking exclusively to India Today Digital, she shared her excitement about the unexpected social media blow-up. The moment was so significant that it almost brought her to tears when she thought she received praise from superstar Vijay.

A Moment of Unexpected Drama

In a twist that could only happen in the digital age, Priya was recently pranked during a promotional event. A video seemingly showed Vijay praising her performance, which left her emotional. However, it was revealed to be an AI-generated clip using footage from a political party meeting. Despite the emotional rollercoaster, she handled the situation with grace and humor.

Navigating the Spotlight

When asked about dealing with social media attention, Priya remains grounded. “After a certain point, you get used to things,” she says. “It’s always better to focus on the positive rather than dwelling on the negatives.”

The Future Looks Bright

Looking ahead, Priya is selective about her projects. “I’m trying to be selective and pick good scripts,” she revealed. Her recent roles in Tamil cinema, including ‘Good Bad Ugly’ and ‘Nilavukku En Mel Ennadi Kobam’, showcase her versatility as an actress.
