Primebook India, a technology startup focused on computing solutions for the Indian youth, has announced notable business and ecosystem growth for the financial year 2025-26. The company concluded the fiscal period with an Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) of INR 85 crore, marking a 35% year-on-year revenue increase, and reported sales of over 75,000 Primebook laptops.

During FY25-26, Primebook India (https://primebook.in/) expanded its retail presence, with Primebook laptops now available in 300 stores nationwide. The company’s active user base grew by 25% year-on-year, indicating increased adoption across student, creator, freelancer, and young professional demographics.

Software Enhancements and User Engagement

Beyond hardware sales, Primebook continued to enhance PrimeOS, its proprietary Android-based laptop operating system developed in-house. Over the financial year, the company introduced 10 new features, deployed 8 major PrimeOS updates, and released 6 security patches, aiming to improve system performance, user experience, and device security.

User engagement within the PrimeOS ecosystem remained robust. A survey of 1,000 Primebook users indicated an average daily usage of 4.5 hours. The findings highlighted strong engagement across productivity, communication, entertainment, and learning applications, underscoring PrimeOS’s increasing utility as a primary computing platform.

The most downloaded applications from the Prime App Store during the year included PrimeBrowser, YouTube, WhatsApp, Hotstar, and Google Docs. Gaming, facilitated by PrimeOS’s keymapping capabilities, also emerged as a significant use case, demonstrating the operating system’s versatility beyond traditional productivity and entertainment.

Executive Commentary and Future Outlook

Chitranshu Mahant, Co-Founder and CEO of Primebook, commented on the company’s performance: “Our focus throughout the year has been on strengthening PrimeOS, improving everyday usability, and building an ecosystem that aligns closely with how young India works, learns, and creates. Alongside this growth, we have significantly reduced our month-on-month burn and are now moving steadily towards achieving positive EBITDA in the coming financial year.”

Amid rising demand for accessible personal computing experiences in India, Primebook plans further investment in software innovation, ecosystem development, and user-centric computing. Future initiatives include expanding its retail presence, integrating AI capabilities into PrimeOS to create an “agentic operating system,” and launching new products designed for the Indian market.
