Prices of AMD Radeon & NVIDIA GeForce Graphics Card show significant Improvement

According to 3DCenter’s current pricing and availability report, another month of 2022 has seen a considerable improvement in AMD Radeon and NVIDIA GeForce graphics card prices, as well as better GPU availability.

While current costs are still significantly below the MSRP, according to 3DCenter, the situation has been gradually improving over the last few months. AMD Radeon graphics cards are now priced at 45 percent over MSRP, down from 63 percent last month, while NVIDIA GeForce graphics cards are now priced at 57 percent over MSRP, down from 77 percent last month.

But it’s not just costs that have improved; as you can see from the monthly chart shared by 3DCenter, GPU and graphics card availability has improved since the beginning of 2021 and continues to increase. Almost all stores in Europe, in particular, are filled with graphics cards in large quantities, which means that the only issue right now is the price, which, as previously stated, appears to be improving.

The RX 6000 series is now more affordable than the GeForce offerings when it comes to AMD Radeon graphics cards. The Radeon RX 6700 XT, RX 6800, and RX 6800 XT appear to be the only cards that are overpriced, with the RX 6900 XT costing an average of 33% more than MSRP, the RX 6600 XT costing 32% more than MSRP, the RX 6600 costing 32% more than MSRP, and the RX 6500 XT costing only 17% more than MSRP.

When it comes to NVIDIA, most of the lineup is still priced at more than 50% over MSRP. Still, cards like the RTX 3080 Ti are currently priced at 32% over MSRP, making it a better option for gamers than the RTX 3090 because it also comes in an LHR package, making it almost not good a deal for miners. The most recent launch, the GeForce RTX 3050, is currently priced at 49 percent above MSRP. Moore’s Law is Dead has a lengthy video that summarises the current pricing situation:

It’s important to note that the prior significant price increase and decrease we experienced last year were solely due to the mining boom and bust, respectively. The same is happening right now, and while mining was very significant earlier this month, it is rebounding. According to manufacturers, GPU costs are projected to rise by another 10-20% for high-end components. As a result, we should wait and see if this price adjustment persists or if another price increase occurs by the middle of 2022.
