PowerColor’s custom GPU based on AMD's upcoming Radeon RX 6700 leaked

PowerColor has just leaked out the details about the custom graphics card based on AMD’s upcoming Radeon RX 6700. The RX 6700 is based on the RDNA 2 architecture and will feature a cut-down variant of the Navi 22 GPU featured on the Radeon RX 6700 XT and also reduced memory capacity.

The custom variant by PowerColor, dubbed as the Radeon RX 6700 Fighter, comes with 6 GB GDDR6 memory but it doesn’t rule out the possibility of a card coming in the 12 GB variants. Sources indicate that the card could end up featuring both 12 GB and 6 GB GDDR6 flavors but we currently only have confirmation that the 6 GB variant exists.

According to sources, the AMD Radeon RX 6700 is expected to use a cut-down variant of the Navi 22 GPU with a total of 2304 cores or 36 compute units. It will as mentioned above will feature 6 GB GDDR6 memory across a 192-bit bus interface and has a TDP of around 200W.

As we know, AMD with its new graphics cards is aiming at 1440p gaming however the company in its slides for the RX 6700 XT shows that anything below 8 GB is not recommended for gaming at a resolution of 1440p. So, it’s confusing for the company’s cards to be released with six Gigs of RAM.

The PowerColor Radeon RX 6700 Fighter features the reference AMD PCB but with a non-reference dual-slot and dual-fan cooler. It has a matte black finish and the two fans blow air towards a large central aluminum-finned heatsink that incorporates multiple copper heat pipes. The AMD Radeon RX 6700 is expected to launch next month for a sub-$400 US price.
