According to exclusive reports from IGN, Ghostrunner will release a big new DLC expansion in early 2022. After teasing it as “Ultimate DLC” last week, Ghostrunner’s devs revealed the new material today, revealing that it is a story-driven expansion starring a significant character from the original game, we present to you Project Hel.
The new DLC, Project Hel, puts you in the shoes of Hel, one of the original game’s most difficult bosses. She will be a combat-oriented character in the Project Hel DLC, appealing to both “new gamers and veterans,” with her ability advancement system.
The plot of Project Hel will cover six missions, following Hel as she descends Dharma Tower. It will also have new opponents and bosses, as well as six new tunes from electronic musician Daniel Deluxe. It was intended to be a minor piece of DLC, but it expanded into a “full-blown Ghostrunner experience.”
505 Games is also creating a free cosmetics package in addition to the new tale. The Holiday Pack will be available on December 7th and will feature multiple festive swords and matching gloves.
“You may die hundreds of times, but instantaneous respawn and generous checkpointing ensure that Ghostrunner’s challenging combat and platforming never become a chore.”
Since then 505 Games has announced Ghostrunner 2, a sequel being developed for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
When Project Hel is launched, it will be the most extensive piece of Ghostrunner DLC ever. Participants will be listed in Project Hel’s credits if they join up for an early private beta before the game’s release.
For January 27, Project Hel will be available for $14.99 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Amazon Luna, and PC.
