While making a phone, manufacturers usually play with multiple designs before selecting one. Sometimes, we take a look at some of these concepts, and it’s always nice to see what could have been. An example is the leaked image of the OnePlus 7 concept which shows a very different design from what was finally announced. The most interesting thing is that this design is very similar to the upcoming Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.
The concept picture of the OnePlus 7 phone was shared on Weibo by a user who goes by an industrial designer from OnePlus. According to him, the concept of OnePlus 7 was created after the launch of OnePlus 6 in 2018.
As seen in the image, the OnePlus 7 concept has a camera bar that runs across the width of the back of the phone. The bar has a metallic silver color while the area around the cameras is black. There are four sensors horizontally in the lineup, which is more than twice the number of cameras launched with the OnePlus 7. There is also a dual-tone LED flash on the right. The concept phone has the same silky white finish that the OnePlus 6 was available in.
Google confirmed the design of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro earlier this week and the design of both the phones will be similar to what OnePlus used a few years back. However, the bar is thicker and has fewer camera sensors. Google is also going with a dual-color finish for its phone.
The Pixel 6 series will arrive this fall but we don’t expect the design to be a Google exclusive for long. We should see other manufacturers adopt the design soon,
