The smartwatch that once defined minimalist wearables is back. Pebble Round 2 has been officially launched, reviving its beloved circular design from 2015 with major upgrades that address every shortcoming of the original Time Round. Priced at just $199, this e-paper marvel ships in May 2026.
Pebble Round 2: Fixing a Classic Design
The original Pebble Time Round suffered from an enormous bezel and mediocre battery life despite being remarkably thin. The Round 2 eliminates both issues with a stunning edge-to-edge 1.3-inch color e-paper display boasting 260×260 resolution at 283 DPI—double the original’s pixel count.
At 8.1mm thick, it’s slightly thicker than its predecessor’s 7.5mm but still slimmer than virtually every modern smartwatch. The stainless steel frame comes in matte black, brushed silver, and polished rose gold finishes, supporting either 20mm or 14mm bands depending on color choice.

Why E-Paper Still Matters
While modern smartwatches chase AMOLED brilliance and heart rate sensors, Pebble doubles down on its core philosophy: always-on readability and exceptional battery life. The Round 2 delivers 10-14 days per charge, obliterating the daily charging ritual plaguing Apple Watch and Galaxy Watch users.
The watch runs open-source PebbleOS with access to over 15,000 apps and watchfaces through the Pebble Appstore. Basic health tracking covers steps and sleep, but there’s no heart rate monitor—a deliberate trade-off for extended battery performance.
Dual microphones enable voice input and message replies, though iOS users must wait for EU regulatory approval before accessing reply functionality. The device supports both iOS and Android through the Pebble mobile app, making it platform-agnostic unlike most wearables.
Pebble founder Eric Migicovsky brought the brand back after Google released PebbleOS source code. Recent launches include the Time 2 and an AI-powered smart ring, with plans to integrate similar AI features into watches soon.
