Panchayat is a comedy-drama that follows the journey of Abhishek, an engineering graduate who, due to limited job opportunities, takes up the role of secretary at a panchayat office in a remote village of Uttar Pradesh. Panchayat is one of the most popular Indian web series because of its simple and realistic storytelling. The show finds humour in everyday village life instead of relying on action, crime or unexpected twists. Season 4 Recap: How We Got Here
Panchayat Season 4 focused on a fierce power struggle between Manju Devi and Kranti Devi during village elections. East and West Phulera became sharply divided, as both sides chased votes and influence.
Bhushan Sharma defeated Manju Devi in the election by 73 votes and is now the new Pradhan of Phulera, a political shakeup that does not sit well with Manju Devi and Brij Bhushan Dubey. Meanwhile, Abhishek cleared his CAT exam with a 97 percentile score and confessed his love for Rinki, but chose not to leave Phulera.
Season 5 Plot
The new season will continue directly from where Season 4 ended. The story is expected to focus on the new political situation in Phulera and how it affects Sachiv Ji and the people around him.
Writer Chandan Kumar had hinted that the next season would answer several major questions, including the future of Sachiv Ji and Rinki’s relationship, the village politics after the elections, and the mystery surrounding the attack on Pradhan Ji.
