Pakistan to Host ODI Tri-Series with England and Sri Lanka in Oct–Nov 2026: What We Know So Far

Pakistan are set to welcome England and Sri Lanka for an ODI tri-series in the October–November 2026 window, as part of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s push to bring back triangular tournaments and add context-rich white-ball cricket to the calendar. The tri-series is widely being reported as a key build-up assignment ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2027, giving all three teams a competitive run of ODIs in subcontinent conditions.

Quick Snapshot

While the exact match dates and venues have not been formally released in a full fixture list yet, the participation window (Oct/Nov 2026) has been part of PCB’s publicly shared long-term scheduling, and recent reports say discussions/confirmations with the visiting boards are already in place.

This Oct/Nov 2026 tri-series window was specifically mentioned in PCB’s broader plan to schedule triangular ODI series to “increase excitement and attract greater audiences.”

Why This Tri-Series Matters

1) Competitive ODIs with tournament pressure

Tri-series cricket creates built-in jeopardy—every match affects a final, so teams don’t treat games like casual bilaterals. That’s valuable for Pakistan and England especially, who are frequently trying to lock down ODI combinations in a packed multi-format calendar.

2) England touring Pakistan adds big-match value

Whenever England tour Pakistan, interest spikes due to recent history, security narratives, and the intensity of contests. Adding Sri Lanka gives the series extra variety: different bowling styles, different batting match-ups, and more tactical contrast.

3) Sri Lanka’s ODI strength in Asian conditions

Sri Lanka have often been a tricky ODI opponent in the region because of their spin depth and familiarity with slower surfaces—making them the perfect “third team” to raise the overall quality of the tri-series.

What’s Confirmed vs What’s Still Pending

The October/November 2026 window involving England and Sri Lanka has been part of PCB’s published hosting plan, but fans should expect the detailed match calendar to come later.

Expected Format (Typical ODI Tri-Series)

This is the most common structure used for ODI tri-series, and is what fans should expect unless PCB announces a different format.
