The company says, that this Gorilla Glass Victus has 2x improve scratch resistance than its predecessor Gorilla Glass 6. It can resist scratch up to 4 times better than its predecessor. Apart from this, the latest Gorilla Glass has 1.5x better drop resistance capacity. The glass also has a capacity to retain structural integrity as long as it dropped on surfaces up to 2m in height.
The company has also shared a video through its Weibo account, which reveals that this Gorilla Glass Victus can tolerate the pressure up to 100Kg. Apart from this glass, the company has already confirmed that the flagship Xiaomi Mi 11 comes with advanced display technology.
According to the recent leak, the Xiaomi Mi 11 will unveil in Q1 2021. This series of smartphones are going to be the World’s first smartphones with Snapdragon 888 chipset and will run on MIUI 12.0 based on Android 11 out of the box. Lionel Messi had everyone hooked at him during the summer when he handed the transfer request to Barcelona. He wanted to leave the club after playing for the Blaugrana ever since.
Then-Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu refused to let him go and Messi decided to stay at the club rather than taking the matters to the court.
Messi’s form at the start of the season wasn’t good but he is slowing coming back to his best after breaking Pele’s record for the most no of goals for a single club.
Lionel Messi has now again given an interview, which in all probability will clear the air around his future to some extent. A clip of the interview has been revealed.
In the clip, you can see Messi saying: “It’s true that I am privileged because of everything I’m experiencing, but there are times when I would like to be anonymous and be able to enjoy going to a supermarket, a cinema or a restaurant.”
Messi hasn’t yet signed a contract extension with Barcelona and will be free to sign a pre-contract offer with any club in January. But a new president will be elected in Barcelona on 24th January which may prove to be vital in regards to Messi’s future at the club.
The entire interview will be released on Sunday, 27th December at 21.25 pm CET. It is expected that Messi will speak a lot about what exactly happened, and how he feels currently and his future at the club.
Now it is official that Xiaomi is not including the charging adapter in the box of the Mi 11. The Mi 11 lineup is scheduled for 28th December to launch in China. The global launch date of the phone has not been revealed. Yesterday a tipster shared the packing box image of the phone claiming that the phone will not come with a charger. Today, the company has officially revealed the Mi 11 packing box claiming that the phone will not be shipped with a charging adapter in the box.
This kind of marketing we have seen in the launch event of the Apple iPhone 12 series, where the company had claimed that they will not ship the phone with any charger. Following the path, Xiaomi seems to have decided to exclude the charging adapter as well from the retail box. There are a few speculations and rumors that the next flagship series of Samsung will also exclude the charging adapter from the box.
This is the official video from Xiaomi revealing the retail box of the Mi 11. The company claims that the box will be lighter for 2021 and acclamation is backed by Lei Jun’s post in Weibo revealing the cause of this decision. In his post he has mentioned the reason why the company has taken this huge step by excluding the charging adapter from the retail box of Mi 11.
Reason of Excluding the Charging Adapter from the retail box of Mi 11:
As per Lei Jun, due to “environment protection,” Xiaomi has taken this step by excluding the charging adapter from the retail box of Mi 11. This acclamation has also been backed up by an argument claiming that the smartphone users who will buy the phone will also have charging adapters at home received from their previous phone box. So, an addition to the adapter will be meaningless at this point. So the company does not want to create more burden on the environment and this making the box slimmer so that fewer materials will be used in the process of manufacturing and causing less harm to the environment.
As of now, most of the companies are thinking of this solution for creating less burden on the environment thus putting a step forward to protect it. We have seen Apple and now Xiaomi, even Samsung may follow this step. We don’t know which company will do it next, but we do want to know is there any better solution for protecting the environment other than excluding the charger from the box of new phones?
The US-based cover glass manufacturer Corning made an announcement earlier this week that it has reached the final stage of development for its cover glass for foldable smartphones. So, it looks like Corning will start shipping its foldable cover glasses for foldable smartphone manufacturers, such as Samsung, Oppo, and so on. Though, Corning is not the only company in the market which is making glass cover for foldable handsets of Samsung. Another one is there for a tough competition against Corning, the German-based company Schott. But, Corning looks ahead of it as the company is in the final stage of the foldable cover glass development and the mass production and commercialization are about to begin in 2021.
Corning has started developing it back in September this year, as the company had said that it was testing samples and the cover glass will get launched officially within 1 year as planned. On the other hand, the substrate glass is used in the ultra-thin glass cover made by Samsung Electronics for its foldable smartphones. Schott has been the sole supplier of it. Now, for the foldable OLED panels, Samsung is looking to dependent on Corning’s cover glass.
Regarding the partnership between Samsung Display with Schott, the South-Korean tech monster has signed a three-year exclusive purchasing deal for their glass substrates. So, it looks like the competition will rise higher between Samsung Electronics and Samsung Display over processing the cover glass. As per some reports, Samsung is about to launch its Galaxy Z Fold 3 smartphone in June next year. So, within the next few months, Samsung is going to get Corning cover glasses for its upcoming foldable smartphone.
The recent leaks are mostly related to the upcoming 11th Gen Intel Rocket Lake CPUs and the new performance leak of the upcoming Intel Core i9-11900 doesn’t seem convincing enough, especially against the mind-blowing AMD Ryzen 5000 series processors.
The leaked performance has been spotted by Bilibili (via Videocardz) shows Intel leading in terms of single-core performance current-gen, but its multi-core scores are not that convincing. If compared with AMD Ryzen 5000 series processors, the scores look even worse in single-core and multi-core.
Intel Core i9-11900 will essentially be a locked 65W variant of the Core i9-11900K, featuring 8 cores and 16 threads, with 1.8 GHz base frequency and a 4.4 GHz boost (single-core) and 3.8 GHz (all-core). This is essentially so timid because this CPU draws only 65W (PL1) TDP while the Core i9-11900K draws 125W (PL1) TDP.
However, during full load, it will draw about 225W, whereas the Core i9-11900K will have max TDP figures of up to 250W. Intel’s cut-downs will have a significant impact on performance; the CPU was tested on an unreleased B560 chipset motherboard.
It is expected that both B560 and Z590 motherboards will be available from 11th January, two months before the 11th Gen CPUs come to market, similar to what AMD did with A520 and B550 motherboards.
Cinebench R20:
In Cinebench R20, the Core i9-11900 scores 529 points in single-core, which is a small improvement over last-gen but not significant in front of the Ryzen 5000 series processors; even the budget Ryzen 5 5600X scores 598 points in our review. In multi-core, scores are also not that significant, with all 8 cores boosting to only 3.8GHz, making 4683 points.
Cinebench R15:
The story remains the same in Cinebench R15 as well, the Core i9-11900 scoring just 210 points in single-core and 1929 points in multi-core, far less than that of the budget Ryzen 5 5600X. The 11th Gen Core i9 has even lower clock speeds than that of the current Core i7-10700 with boosts of 4.80 GHz on single-core and 4.60 GHz on all cores, and even the lower-end Ryzen 5 5600X can be boosted to 4.60 GHz across all of the 6 cores.
Whereas in the CPU-Z benchmark, the CPU scored 590.3 points in single-core while scoring 5121.7 points in the multi-threaded benchmark, which is pretty low. The upcoming 11th Gen Intel CPUs’ current scenario seems very dull, the only good thing being the integrated Xe graphics.
In the latest report published by ICICI Securities, in October 2020, the telecom industry’s ‘active’ subscriber base touched 961 million after it rose by nearly 2.5 million. User additions benefited from the vanishing impact of SIM consolidation triggered due to the tariff hike.
Trai’s telecom subscription data revealed that Bharti Airtel’s active subscribers rose to nearly 320 million after a 3 million increase in October 2020, “most of which was driven by total subscriber net adds, thus indicating the improving quality of subscriber addition”.
In its traditionally weak circles of Maharashtra and Gujarat, Bharti Airtel saw the highest subscriber addition of 0.7 million and 0.5 million, respectively.
The reported visitor location register (VLR) is used to calculate the active subscribers. It is a key metric reflecting the number of active users on a mobile network.
“Industry-active subscriber base expanded by 2.5 million to 961 million. Subscriber addition has benefited from vanishing impact of SIM consolidation triggered from the tariff hike,” the report said.
The report revealed about rival companies as well, Jio’s active subscribers rose to 319 million in October after a 1.1 million increase while there was a continued decrease in Vodafone Idea Ltd’s (VIL) active subscriber numbers, but at a slower pace; it fell to about 260 million after a 1.2 million decrease in October 2020.
Bharti Airtel has regained market leader position by active subscribers, ICICI Securities observed.
According to data provided by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai), on an overall basis, Airtel added 3.6 million new customers in October. This new addition took its total wireless customer base to 330.3 million in October 2020.
Also, according to the October data, Airtel was followed by Reliance Jio, which added an overall 2.22 million new mobile customers, taking its total subscriber base to 406.3 million. VIL and state-owned BSNL and MTNL, on the other hand, reported a loss of subscriber base, on an overall basis.

California-based Nuro, a robotaxi startup that is working to transform local commerce through self-driving delivery, has won the state’s first-ever approval to make deliveries in an autonomous vehicle.
This will enable Nuro to become the first commercial autonomous vehicle service (AV) in the state. The robotics company is delighted with the regulatory approval and believes it is a significant achievement for the AV industry.
According to AutoCarPro, Dave Ferguson, co-founder, and president of Nuro said: “The California DMV is a leader in safety standards, and we appreciate their collaboration and safety-first approach to AV regulation. Since founding Nuro over four years ago, we’ve been working towards the day we could launch a delivery service in our home state. Now that we have the permit, we are thrilled to be able to do so, providing our fellow Californians with a convenient and affordable way to access the food, beverages, prescription medicines, and other products they need.”
Nuro has been testing its vehicles in California since 2017; the company can now start routine deliveries of products such as food, beverages, and medicine.
“Issuing the first deployment permit is a significant milestone in the evolution of autonomous vehicles in California,” said Steve Gordon, director of the state’s Department of Motor Vehicles, according to Bloomberg. “We will continue to keep the safety of the motoring public in mind as this technology develops.”
Nuro, which works with a Toyota Prius and its own small vehicle known as the R2, after gaining approval, has taken the lead in the race to begin routine commercial operations using driverless vehicles. GM’s Cruise unit, Waymo LLC, and Amazon backed Zoox, who recently unveiled a new AV, have also gotten approval for tests in California and are all seeking to cash in on the new technology.
Considering the safety hazards caused by even a minor malfunction in a driverless car, Nuro had to meet several safety standards. Some of the tests included showing its vehicles capable of avoiding hazards and creating a plan for interacting with police and other emergency responders, the DMV informed.
However, the deliveries have been limited to a few conditions. They can only occur during good weather conditions. The vehicles are limited to a maximum speed of 25 miles per hour, and can only operate in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties the an Francisco Bay area.
