India’s own mobile operating system, BharOS, is focused on privacy and security

0

India has recently developed its own mobile operating system called BharOS. This new operating system is designed with a focus on privacy and security and is a direct response to the growing concerns about data privacy and security in the country.

BharOS details

The BharOS is being developed by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), which is an autonomous scientific society under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) of the Indian government. The operating system is based on Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and is being developed with a focus on the Indian government’s data privacy and security requirements.

One of the key features of BharOS is its ability to provide enhanced security through built-in encryption and secure boot features. This means that users’ data and information will be safe and secure, and will be protected from any unauthorized access. Additionally, the operating system is built on the AOSP, which means that it is open-source and transparent, making it easier for developers to identify and fix any vulnerabilities.

BharOS

The operating system is also designed to be highly customizable and can be tailored to meet the specific requirements of different government agencies. This allows for more efficient and secure management of government data and communications.

The BharOS is also designed to be user-friendly and easy to use, making it accessible to a wide range of users. It also comes with a wide range of pre-installed Indian language support and apps, which makes it more inclusive for non-English speaking users.

The BharOS is currently in the testing phase and is expected to be released to the public soon. The Indian government has also announced that it will be mandatory for all government agencies and departments to use BharOS for their mobile devices.

In conclusion, BharOS is a new mobile operating system developed by India that focuses on privacy and security. The operating system is based on the Android Open Source Project and is designed to provide enhanced security through built-in encryption and secure boot features.

It is also customizable and easy to use, making it accessible to a wide range of users. The BharOS is expected to be released to the public soon and will be mandatory for all government agencies and departments to use for their mobile devices. The BharOS will be a significant move for India and will be a game changer for the country’s digital infrastructure and also India’s push for self-reliance in technology.

Manchester United make Harry Kane the top priority for summer 2023

0

Manchester United are seriously considering a transfer for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane this summer.

The England captain’s deal with Spurs runs out in 2024, and if they cannot finish in the Champions League places this year, he could push for an exit. Based on reports, the price tag for him could start at £85 million at the very least.

Harry Kane one of the top targets for Manchester United

United officials are exploring ways to go about the deal, while the player himself is open to the move. Erik Ten Hag’s side have signed Wout Weghorst during the winter transfer window as a temporary solution to their striker problems. And as things stand, there is no option to buy him.

In the summer, Harry Kane could arrive as a potential solution to their striker role. Anthony Martial is the only other natural option that is there in the squad, but his injury record has prevented him from being available regularly.

While there is interest from Bayern Munich and Real Madrid as well, the striker prefers to stay in England. Moreover, Bayern are not willing to match the asking price that Spurs are asking for their talisman. Part of the reason behind his desire to stay in the English top flight is due to his ambition to surpass Alan Shearer in the Premier League, who remains 62 goals ahead of him.

Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and RB Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko are the two other options on the table for the club. But as things stand, Kane is the top priority for them.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU Shows better gaming performance with DLSS 3 than its predecessor

0

Jarrod’s Tech demonstrated the power of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU found in the upcoming Razer Blade 16 gaming laptop on its YouTube channel. As these are the first laptops to feature the latest AI upscaling technology, Jarrod’s Tech provided an exclusive first look and sneak peek at the performance of the GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU and its performance comparison using the new DLSS 3 technology to DLSS 2.

The new Razer Blade 16 gaming laptop is shown on YouTube, and it is powered by the Intel 13th Gen Core i9-13950HX processor with 24 cores and the NVIDIA RTX 4090 graphics, which is based on the AD103 GPU. The graphics processor in the laptop has a TGP of 150 to 175 W.

Jarrod’s Tech is using the Razer Blade 17, which has a nearly identical TGP to the new laptop and an Intel 12th Gen Core i7-12800H processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics. The most noticeable difference between the two laptops under the hood is the system memory. The Razer Blade 17 has DDR4-4800 memory, whereas the new Razer Blade 17 has DDR5-5600 memory.

Comparisons between the RTX 4090 GPU in the Razer Blade 16 with NVIDIA’s DLSS 3 upscaling enabled and the Razer Blade 17 with DLSS 2 enabled are not entirely useful in this case, demonstrating the limitations of what Jarrod is permitted to show.

NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 4090 with DLSS 3 (Performance preset) outperforms the RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU by 80% to 263.1%. The new Ada Lovelace generation improved up to 135.8% and 126% in his Blender and DaVinci Resolve Studio tests, respectively. The H.265 codec was compared to 4K at 30fps and 8K resolutions in the DaVinci Resolve Studio test.

While we wait for the embargo to be lifted, this testing allows us to see at least some of the significant differences in graphics technology. However, there are several aspects that require coverage, such as power consumption, thermal performance, clock operation, and more, which will be available to consumers only when the reviews are released next month.

NVIDIA’s first GeForce RTX 4090 and RTX 4080 laptops, including the Razer Blade 16, are set to go on sale on February 8th, with pre-orders beginning on February 1st.

Dani Alves held without bail for sexual assault charges in Barcelona

0

Dani Alves has been sentenced to jail for sexual assault in Barcelona. Charges against him were put forth on 30th December 2022, and he went to Mossos d’Esquadra de Les Corts to testify against the allegations made against him.

The 39-year-old is currently held without bail for his actions at a nightclub. His contract with Mexican club Pumas was terminated shortly after the allegations, and he is now set to face the charges in Spain.

Dani Alves sentenced to jail for sexual assault

“Yes, I was in that place, with more people, enjoying myself. And people who know me know that I love to dance. I was dancing and enjoying myself without invading the space of others,” the player said.

“I don’t know who that lady is. You arrive at a bathroom and you don’t have to ask who’s there. I have never invaded anyone’s space. How am I going to do it with a woman or a girl? No, for God’s sake.”

His contract with Pumas was terminated with an official statement from the club as well:

“Club Universidad makes the decision to terminate the contract with Dani Alves with just cause,” Silva said.

“This is an institution that promotes respect and the correct, dignified and professional behaviour of its male and female players both on and off the field because they are role models in Mexico and throughout the world. We cannot permit any conduct that would damage our philosophy.”

Unless the decision from the judge is reversed, the footballer will be held in jail until trial.

Samsung shows a new Folding Phone Hinge Prototype at CES 2023, could it be for Galaxy Z Fold5?

The Galaxy Z Fold4, Samsung’s flagship folding device, was released in August 2022. It demonstrates a more advanced version of their folding screen technology. Samsung Display debuted a new prototype display and hinge that can rotate 360 degrees at CES 2023.

The ‘Flex In & Out’ display will allow the user to fold the display inward and outward, implying that the hinge will be designed differently. According to reports, the crease created by such a display will be more subtle than the current folding screen technology. The hinge design, also known as a ‘water-drop hinge,’ will allow the display to fold inward and form a looser shape.

It should be noted that this is not the first time Samsung has unveiled a ‘Flex In & Out’ display at an event.

In the year 2021, the company previously displayed a similar display in Korea. The new display can fold both inward and outward, whereas the older display can only fold like an “S” with segments.

The new 360-degree folding display could make its way onto the Galaxy Z Fold5, which is expected to be released later this year alongside the Galaxy Z Flip5. The new hinge would also mean that the fold crease would be more subtle than on the Galaxy Z Fold4. Only time will tell if Samsung can maintain its lead in the folding device market, as the company’s Z series smartphones currently dominate the market.

Juventus handed 15-point deduction over financial wrongdoing: Appeal to follow

0

Juventus have been handed a 15-point deduction in Serie A for their financial irregularities and false accounting. Their former sporting director, Fabio Paratici, has been handed a two-and-a-half year ban for his involvement in the matter.

Tottenham Hotspur are actively seeking clarification about the matter, as to whether Paratici’s ban extends beyond Italy.

Juventus to appeal points deduction immediately

The Bianconeri have dropped to tenth place in the table, and are waiting for a written reason for their sanction. They have the ability to appeal the decision, and plan on exercising it immediately as confirmed in an official statement.

“Juventus Football Club S.p.A. (“Juventus” or the “Company”) informs that the Federal Court of Appeal, Unified Sections, having regard to the appeal for revocation pursuant to Article 63 of the Sport Justice Code brought by the Federal Prosecutor’s Office, declared the appeal for revocation admissible and thus revoked the decision of the Federal Court of Appeals, Unified Sections, No. 0089/CFA2021-2022 of 27 May 2022 and, as a result, ordered the penalty of 15 points in the standing for Juventus to be deducted in the current Sport Season and the temporary inhibition for the Sporting Director, Federico Cherubini, from carrying out activities in the FIGC context for 16 months, with a request for extension in the UEFA and FIFA contexts,” the statement read.

“Pursuant to the revoked decision, the Federal Court of Appeals had rejected the appeal (“reclamo”) brought by the Federal Prosecutor’s Office against the decision of the National Federal Court, which, in turn, had acquitted Juventus and the other parties charged for because of the lack of any disciplinary offence with regard to the evaluation of the effects of certain transfers of players’ rights on financial statements and the accounting of capital gains.

“The Company awaits the publication of the reasons of the decision and announces as of now the bringing of an appeal to the Sport Guarantee Board (Collegio di Garanzia dello Sport) in accordance with the terms of the Sport Justice Code.”

Juventus’ entire board resigned following the investigation that was launched into their finances. And now, it seems like they will be denied a Champions League finish with the sanctions.

Netflix Co-Founder Reed Hastings steps down as its Co-CEO

0

Reed Hastings, co-founder and CEO of Netflix, announced his retirement on Thursday after more than two decades with the company. While news of his departure comes as a shock, Hastings noted that Netflix has planned its next era of leadership “for many years” in the announcement, which was shared on the company’s blog.

In 2020, Netflix named Ted Sarandos, who has long led the company’s content efforts, as co-CEO alongside Hastings. Netflix described the change at the time as formalising how the company was already operating.

In Hastings’ absence, Netflix will maintain the co-CEO structure, promoting COO Greg Peters to the tandem role with Sarandos.

“It was a baptism by fire, given COVID and recent challenges within our business,” Hastings said of Sarandos and Peters taking the reins. “But they’ve both managed incredibly well, ensuring Netflix continues to improve and developing a clear path to reaccelerate our revenue and earnings growth. So the board and I believe it’s the right time to complete my succession.”

Netflix

Hastings will stay on as executive chairman of the board, following in the footsteps of other prominent major tech company founders such as Amazon’s Jeff Bezos and Microsoft’s Bill Gates.

The announcement came just before Netflix reported its fourth-quarter earnings. In Q4, the company exceeded expectations by adding 7.7 million subscribers, far exceeding the 4.5 million expected. The company earned $7.85 billion in revenue during the fourth quarter of 2022, continuing its recent trend of slowing revenue growth.

Netflix’s stock price has fallen far short of previous pandemic highs in the last year, but the company has recovered from its midyear lows of $180 per share, trading at $315 before its Q4 report was released late Thursday.

The company launched an ad-supported subscription tier in November, and Thursday’s report provided the first real indication of how that new product might affect the company’s fortunes now that streaming’s early pandemic boom is over. In the report, Netflix called the launch of its lower-cost ad-supported tier a success for the fourth quarter, but noted that there was “much more still to do” with the new product.

A Netflix ad executive noted the variety of advertisers that the company has already attracted at CES earlier this month, describing it as a boon for consumers looking to offset their monthly costs with a Hulu-like ad-supported subscription.
