The film now eyes a theatrical close somewhere just above Rs 60 crore nett — a decent number on paper, but a deeply underwhelming one given its pedigree.

One interesting subplot here is how BOGO (Buy One Get One) offers have propped up the nett numbers in the film’s later weeks. While it has boosted ticket count and helped O’Romeo cross the psychological Rs 50 crore milestone — which at one point seemed unlikely — it comes at the cost of share revenue. That free ticket is still paid for by the producer, not the audience. So it’s a marketing win dressed up as a box office win.

The film’s core problem was simple: mixed audience word-of-mouth. A cleaner, more unanimous verdict from viewers would have added another Rs 20–30 crore to the total — the difference between a disappointment and a success.
