It’s the question every MCU fan has been asking since Endgame rolled credits: could the original team really come back together one last time? With Avengers: Secret Wars set to close out the Multiverse Saga, the rumor mill says — quietly, but unmistakably — yes.
Secret Wars: The Reunion Rumor That Started It All
The latest buzz centers on Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova and Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop. According to Marvel insider reports, the two are set to share major screen time in Secret Wars for the first time since Hawkeye in 2021. Fans have wanted this pairing back ever since their sharp, funny chemistry lit up the Disney+ show — and their dynamic is already being compared to a certain legendary duo.
That comparison isn’t random. Yelena and Kate are widely seen as heirs to Natasha Romanoff and Clint Barton — meaning even without the originals physically present, their legacy keeps echoing through the new lineup.
Who’s Actually Confirmed to Return
Here’s where things get real instead of just rumor-shaped:
| Actor | Character | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Tom Hiddleston | Loki | Reportedly returning |
| Robert Downey Jr. | Doctor Doom | Confirmed |
| Anthony Mackie | Captain America | Confirmed |
| Sebastian Stan | Bucky Barnes | Confirmed |
| Florence Pugh | Yelena Belova | Confirmed, rumored bigger role |
| Hayley Atwell | Peggy Carter | Confirmed |
| Letitia Wright | Shuri | Confirmed |
The presence of Hiddleston’s Loki is especially telling — after his Loki Season 2 finale left him guarding the multiverse itself, his reported return suggests the “original Avengers” thread never really closed.
So, Will It Actually Happen?
Not in the literal sense of Iron Man and Thor high-fiving again — but in spirit, yes. Marvel’s Secret Wars comic source material has always been about collapsing realities forcing old and new heroes into the same room. With Doomsday already merging MCU veterans, the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four, Secret Wars looks built to let legacy characters like Loki and Peggy stand shoulder to shoulder with the next generation — Yelena, Kate, and beyond.
Keeping track of every confirmed cameo takes real effort — TechnoSports has been compiling the latest Avengers: Secret Wars casting updates as they drop, worth bookmarking as more names get confirmed.
