Oppo is gearing up to launch the Oppo Reno 7 series on the 4th of February. Ahead of the launch, the company has put out a press release in which it has discussed the proprietary Oppo Glow design featured on the Reno7 Pro and the Reno7 that integrates aircraft-grade Laser Direct Imaging technology.
The design technology allows the glass back cover of the Oppo Reno7 to have a matte texture while retaining a shiny experience as well.
Oppo describes this phenomenon as something ‘paradoxical’. Apart from just looking aesthetically appealing, Oppo Glow enhances usability as well with its fingerprint and stain-resistance properties.
“The newer LDI technology, which till now has been used to design PCBs in the aviation industry, has been repurposed to etch fine textures-as small as 20 microns in size-onto the photoresist-coated AG glass back cover of the Reno7 Series,” is what Oppo stated in the press release.
Each device in the Reno7 Series features a total of 1.2 million micro-etchings that create a starry illusion, complete with tails of light.
In terms of durability, Oppo has ensured that the Reno7 Pro in particular comes with a light design but is also very durable with its aluminum frame and a flat-edged design.
Another notable highlight of the device is its 2.5D, 6.55″ OLED screen that has been surrounded by the narrowest bezels ever in the history of Reno.
As a result, the Reno7 Pro arrives with an eye-watering 92.8% screen-to-body ratio. As mentioned in the title, this will also be the slimmest Reno ever made to this date weighing in at a mere 180g.
One of the other highlights of the Oppo Reno7 Series is the Twin Moon Camera design that the lineup flaunts on the rear with its upper half being etched out of metal and the lower having a ceramic coating.
The Reno7 Pro also utilizes first-of-its-kind 3D ‘breathing’ lights around the camera module. Oppo claims that a 1mm diameter fiber is bent to the camera area, it is programmed to emit soft, pulsating lights whenever the user receives a call or a notification.
