Photographer Boooya’s “Dialect – The Fading Voice” claimed the top prize for documenting disappearing language traditions through mobile photography. The series captures traditional opera performances and generational linguistic gaps, transforming an auditory cultural crisis into compelling visuals.
“The disappearance of language is the disappearance of culture,” noted the jury, highlighting the project’s social importance. Boooya receives $25,000 and OPPO’s latest flagship devices to support future creative work.

Mobile Photography Reaches New Heights
“Mobile photography is more than a tool—it has become a global stage for creative voices,” said Ling Liu, OPPO Overseas CMO. The competition’s theme, “Super Every Moment,” encourages photographers to find extraordinary stories in everyday life.
Judges praised entries for emotional depth and technical finesse. “I’m impressed by photographers’ remarkable frame control and rich emotions evoked. Almost hard to believe they were captured with mobile phones,” one judge remarked.
Expanded Recognition Categories
The 2025 edition introduced new awards including Honorable Mention, Audience’s Choice, and Regional Awards. Sixty photographers gained recognition across eight categories: Snapshot, Youth, Live Photo, Connection, Portrait, Vibe, Photo Series, and Environment.
