Oppo only launched the Find N3 last year and doesn’t normally reveal rounded models at an annual interval. That hiatus wasn’t for nothing — Oppo has been refining its foldable tech, and the results are now coming off the assembly line. The Find N5 is also the world’s first water-resistant foldable with an IPX6, IPX8, and IPX9 rating, the thinnest in its class while still fitting a sizable battery, and the first to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

But the boldest claim made by Oppo is that there won’t be a visible crease on its upcoming foldable when unfolded. Real-world images lend further credibility to the claim, which was previously teased with a comparison of the device to Samsung’s latest Galaxy Z Fold. Photos leaked on Weibo show off the Find N5’s inner display, featuring absolutely no crease. And this is not merely an angle or lighting trick — another shot of the device in its retail box still has a perfectly smooth screen, too. That’s no small feat considering that the folds on a foldable are usually the most noticeable with the display off.

If Oppo really has managed to make a crease-free foldable, that would be a major breakthrough for the segment, albeit a fairly new one for the manufacturer. Spec-wise, the Find N5 is likely to offer Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite (7-core) chip under the hood, a 6.85-inch LTPO main display with 1.5K resolution, and a big cover screen. The camera system consists of a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a periscope telephoto camera.

The device will support 80W wired and 50W wireless fast charging, reverse charging, NFC, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Oppo has confirmed that the Find N5 will launch simultaneously in China and global markets, with an official debut expected within the next two weeks. If it truly delivers a crease-free experience, it could set a new benchmark for foldables in 2025.
