OPPO A53s 5G vs Realme 8 5G: Which is a better 5G smartphone?

The 5G smartphones are supposed to attract customers in the present and future. The 5G rollout has not started by the Indian government till now but the people are optimistic that it may happen soon. Due to this, smartphone companies are bringing budget 5G devices to the market. Let’s compare the two latest devices in this category: OPPO A53s 5G and Realme 8 5G.

Display

Realme 8 5G flaunts a 6.5-inch FHD+ IPS LCD punch-hole panel. It has a modest refresh rate of 90 Hz. The OPPO A53s 5G sports a 6.5-inch display with HD+ resolution and comes with a lower 60 Hz refresh rate when compared to Realme 8 5G.

Processor

The OPPO A53s 5G and the Realme 8 5G are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G chipset. The Cortex A76 clocks a speed of 2.2 GHz in this SoC.

Camera

Talking about the camera, Realme 8 5G features a triple rear camera setup. This includes a 48MP primary sensor along with a 2 MP macro and 2 MP depth sensor.

The OPPO A53s 5G also hosts a triple rear camera module which features a 13 MP primary sensor, 2 MP macro lens, and a 2 MP depth sensor. For selfies and video chats, both smartphones give you a 16 MP snapper at the front.

Battery

Both the devices draw energy from a 5,000 mAh battery cell. The OPPO A53s 5G supports 10W charging whereas the Realme 8 5G is paired with a quicker 18W fast charging support.

Our Thoughts

The display of both devices is similar but the Realme 8 5G smartphone offers a much better refresh rate than OPPO A53s. In terms of mobile processor and battery, both the smartphone has similar specs. Thus nothing to separate between the two here.

The Realme 8 5G device provides a faster charging option which gives a slight edge to this handset. In terms of optics, the Realme 8 device offers a much better primary camera lens. The other sensors are the same in both devices. There are just a few differences in features but they all benefit Realme 8 5G. This might force us to think in its favor.
