OnePlus Watch 3 Spotted on MIIT Certification: Launch on the Horizon?

OnePlus Watch 3 will soon launch in China as per the latest rumors; new details surface on the MIIT database This new certification adds to a number of other certifications received last month hinting that an announcement for the smartwatch may not be far off.

MIIT listing of OnePlus Watch 3 mentions it as OPWW234, which is consistent with the OPWATCH numbering seen in Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and TUV Rheinland certifications. If the model numbers of both this device (W301GB) and the OnePlus Watch 2 (OPWWE231) are any indication, then, this bodes well for future iterations in the world of OnePlus wristwear.

OnePlus Watch 3 comes with a circular watch face and two physical buttons to the right for user interaction, seemingly identical to its predecessor. That design continuity is a suggestion this could be more of an iterative advancement.

The complete specs sheet is still a mystery except for some features like a 500 mAh battery with 10W fast charging support. What the CMIIT certification tells us is that we might see the OnePlus Watch 3 have eSIM support, which could make cellular connectivity part of what it has to offer, transforming it into a proper smartwatch fit for runners or any similarly active lifestyle.

Regarding the chip that will equip this device, speculations indicate two possibilities: being powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear W5 SoC already announced or its successor, called Snapdragon W5 Gen 2, but there is still no confirmation.
