OnePlus Open 2 Leak Hints at Larger Battery, Slimmer Build, and Wireless Charging for 2025 Launch

The OnePlus Open 2 is set to launch in early 2025 as the successor to the OnePlus Open, with enhancements expected to elevate its foldable design. Rumors suggest upgrades such as a battery capacity and a sleeker build for the OnePlus Open 2 model compared to its predecessor features that are sure to impress consumers seeking cutting-edge technology.

Additionally, the OnePlus Open 2 is rumored to support wireless charging, a feature not available in the first model. Interestingly enough, the initial OnePlus Open was initially released in China under the name Oppo Find N3; with this launch of its successor, the OnePlus Open 2 is expected to make its grand entrance, in China as Oppo Find N5 instead.

Leaks About the OnePlus Open 2

A source named Digital Chat Station on the Weibo platform recently mentioned some details, about a model’s features suggesting that it will come with a big screen and a greatly improved 5,700mAh battery capacity as opposed to the previous models’ 4,805mAh capacity. Despite having a big battery onboard the OnePlus Open 2 is said to stay slim in appearance.

The device is anticipated to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite and might feature a specially tailored USB Type C port for improved usability. The photography features are set to improve with a triple rear camera system tuned by Hasselblad that includes a main camera of 50 megapixels and additional 50-megapixel sensors for ultra-wide shots and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 3 times optical zoom.

The foldable device is expected to be released in the Q1 of 2025. When it arrives in China as the Oppo Find N5, it may showcase OnePlus’ continued partnership with Oppo, bringing their foldable technology and software integration into the next phase.

The first OnePlus Open became available in India on October 2023 at ₹1,39,999 for the single configuration with Android 11. It featured a 7.82-inch 2K AMOLED inner screen, a 6.31-inch outer screen, and running on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. That model also featured a Hasselblad-tuned camera setup with a 48-megapixel main sensor.
