OnePlus Nord Buds 3: 5K CAD Renders Revealing the Next-Gen Design

OnePlus entered the true wireless earbuds (TWS) market in 2022 with the launch of its initial Nord Buds. In April of the following year, the company introduced the second iteration of the Nord Buds, a budget-friendly TWS offering an impressive 36 hours of playtime on a single charge, courtesy of its case.

Equipped with a 12.4 mm Dynamic driver featuring the BassWave algorithm, these earbuds gained attention for their audio capabilities. Now, OnePlus is gearing up for the release of the third generation, aptly named the Nord Buds 3. Although the company has been tight-lipped about the specifics, MySmartPrice, in collaboration with the reliable leakster OnLeaks, is unveiling 5K renders of the upcoming Nord Buds 3.

The Rumored OnePlus Nord Buds 3

The design of the Nord Buds 3, as depicted in the renders, takes a departure from its predecessors. The TWS will sport an oval-shaped case, moving away from the previous boxy design. The earbuds themselves will feature a new design, transitioning from sharp edges to a smoother, rounded style. The overall aesthetic is characterized by simplicity and minimalism, with a glossy lid atop the case and a matte finish elsewhere, adorned with the distinctive OnePlus branding on the front.

Simultaneously, OnePlus is set to unveil its flagship Buds 3. Recently spotted on the BIS and FCC certification websites under the E509A model number, the Buds 3 hints at an imminent launch in the Indian market. While the BIS certification didn’t disclose detailed specifications, the FCC certification did provide a glimpse into the design and charging specifications. The case is expected to house a 520mAh battery with support for 4.5W input (5V=0.9A) and 1.2W output (5V=0.24A), boasting a typical capacity of 525mAh (1.995Wh). The earbuds, powered by a 58mAh battery, promise an exciting audio experience with a 10.4mm woofer and a 6mm tweeter.

Moreover, leaked information reveals that the OnePlus Buds 3 will feature 48dB Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), maintaining continuity with its predecessor. The TWS will boast an IP55 rating for water and dust resistance, while the case will carry an IPX4 rating. Additional features include Bluetooth v5.3, Google Fast Pair, and dual connections.

Battery performance is expected to be robust, with 9 hours of usage on a single charge for the Buds 3 when ANC is turned off. With this case, the combined battery life is projected to reach 33 hours. Activating ANC is anticipated to provide 6 hours of usage, extendable to 22 hours with the case. Fast charging support is also on the cards, with a brief 10-minute charge delivering 5 hours of listening time.
