OnePlus 12R rumors to launch by January 2024 in China: Specs and Design leaked

The OnePlus 11R 5G, which was released earlier this year in India, will be replaced by the OnePlus 12R, which will make its debut. The brand-new, high-end R-series phone from OnePlus is expected to be released in India and other countries in the coming weeks. Any information about the introduction or the characteristics of the item has not received an official endorsement from the company. OnePlus 12R will launch in China in January 2024.

OnePlus 12R rumored specs and features

Based on the information that has leaked, we can affirm that the OnePlus 12R 5G will incorporate some of the premium parts seen in current flagship phones. The launch date for the phone has also been alluded to. Before the launch, let’s examine the OnePlus 12R 5G design concepts, specifications, and other details.

The OnePlus 12R 5G is an upcoming flagship smartphone with a high price tag. The phone’s technical specifications and design renderings have been leaked online. According to the leaked design renderings published by OnLeaks with MySmartPrice, the 12R 5G will have a slightly curved front display, similar to the 11R 5G. The top center of the OnePlus 12R 5G’s display has a hole-punch cutout for the front camera.

The back design of the 12R 5G will follow the same strategy as that of the 11R 5G from OnePlus. An LED flash module and a triple camera arrangement are housed inside a spherical enclosure that is perched on a module that disappears into the frame.

On the 12R 5G’s right edge, below the familiar alert slider, is the power button. On the left edge, there is space for the volume rocker. On the bottom edge, a speaker grille, a USB Type-C connection, and a microphone cutout are all discernible.

There will be a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel that supports a 120Hz refresh rate. The curved screen will add an additional 1.5K resolution capability. The 12R 5G will have a powerful 5500mAh battery that is almost 10% bigger than the cell in the 11R. Additionally, it has built-in 100W quick charging capability.

When it comes to software, the Oxygen OS 14 operating system, which is most likely based on Android 14, will be booted by the 12R 5G. OnLeaks tells us that the 12R 5G launch ceremony will take place in China in January 2024 as a final point. Although the exact date of the phone’s release in India is unknown, it may happen at the same time as or shortly after the 12R 5G’s debut in China.

The top-tier flagship smartphone SoC from Qualcomm was the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 before its October release. In addition, the source said that OnePlus will sell the phone with up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage when it initially launches.

There will be a substantial smartphone camera upgrade. The back of the handset will now include a 32MP telephoto camera sensor with a 2x optical zoom. Along with those two cameras, there will be an 8MP ultra-wide and a 50MP primary one. The advantage belonged to the 11R 5G, which sported a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro sensor. The 12R 5G has a front-facing 16MP camera for taking selfies.
