Leaked online ahead of its launch in India and global markets, the color options for the OnePlus 12R have surfaced. Positioned as the successor to the OnePlus 11R, this model is anticipated to be a rebranded version of the OnePlus Ace 3, the successor to the OnePlus Ace 2.
In preparation for the Ace 3’s launch in China, the company revealed its design through a video a few days before the official unveiling. Various details about the upcoming OnePlus phones, encompassing processor, battery, camera, and display specifications, have also emerged online over the past few weeks.
The Upcoming OnePlus 12R/OnePlus Ace 3
Renowned tipster Ishan Agarwal (@ishanagarwal24) shared the leaked color options for the upcoming OnePlus 12R model on X (formerly Twitter). The leaked promotional image and teaser video depict the phone in Black and Blue color variants, showcasing a design closely resembling that of the OnePlus Ace 3. The OnePlus 12R is officially confirmed for a global and Indian launch on January 23, coinciding with the introduction of the OnePlus 12.
Simultaneously, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer released a video on a Weibo post showcasing the OnePlus Ace 3 in a gold color variant. The teaser provides a glimpse of the smartphone’s design, featuring a design language akin to the previous OnePlus Ace 2. The forthcoming handset exhibits a curved display, a glass back panel, and a metal middle frame, with a slightly elevated circular rear camera module situated in the top left corner.
Prior leaks had hinted at Cool Blue and Iron Grey as the expected color options for the OnePlus 12R. It is anticipated to be offered in configurations with 8GB or 6GB of LPDDR5X RAM and storage options of either 128GB of UFS 3.1 or 256GB of UFS 4.0. Powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, the phone is likely to run Android 14-based OxygenOS 14 out-of-the-box.
Specifications for the OnePlus 12R include a 6.78-inch LTPO 4.0 ProXDR panel with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. The camera setup is expected to include a 50-megapixel IMX890 primary sensor, an 8-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide lens, a 2-megapixel macro shooter at the back, and a 16-megapixel sensor at the front. Additionally, the phone is anticipated to feature a 5,500mAh battery with 100W wired fast charging support.
The OnePlus Ace 3, with similar specifications, is poised to debut in China and is expected to be globally launched as the OnePlus 12R. A prior report suggested a launch date in China on January 4 for the Ace 3.
