One UI 6 Beta has reportedly begun to be distributed by Samsung in India, according to a recent post on X. The Samsung Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, and S23 Ultra will all support this Android 14-based update.
Earlier this month, Samsung revealed the One UI 6 beta upgrade, which runs on Android 14 and is compatible with the Galaxy S23 series. Soon after, the One UI 6 Beta programme also began distributing in South Korea, Germany, and the United States.
Here are the new features of One UI 6 Beta
Quick Panel
New Button Layout
Quick Settings now boasts an updated layout for easier access to frequently used functions. Key functions like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth have prominent buttons at the top of the screen, while visual features like dark mode and eye comfort have been relocated to the bottom. The center area now allows customization of quick settings buttons.
Instant Access to Full Quick Panel
By default, swiping down from the top of the screen reveals a compact quick panel with notifications. Swiping down again dismisses notifications and unveils the expanded quick control panel. Enabling instant access to quick settings lets you view the expanded quick control panel with a single swipe down. Additionally, swiping down from the left side displays notifications from the right side of the top.
Lock Screen
Watch Position Adjustment
You now have the flexibility to reposition your watch to your desired location on the lock screen.
Home Screen
Simplified Icon Labels
App icon labels have been streamlined to a single line, creating a cleaner and more straightforward appearance. “Galaxy” and “Samsung” have been removed from certain app names, making them shorter and easier to read.
Font
New Default Font
One UI 6 introduces a fresh default font with a refined and contemporary aesthetic. You will see this new font if it’s selected as the default in your settings. If you’ve chosen a different font, it will remain unchanged even after upgrading to One UI 6.
Quick Brightness Control Access
Default Brightness Slider
The brightness slider now appears as the default option in the compact quick panel when you swipe down once from the top of the screen. This makes adjusting brightness quicker and more convenient.
Improved Album Art Display
When playing music or video, the album art now covers the entire media controller in the notification panel if the app playing the media provides album art.
Improved Notification Layout
Each notification is now presented as a separate card, enhancing visibility and organization.
Sort Notifications by Time
You can now configure your notification settings to sort notifications by time rather than priority, ensuring your most recent notifications always appear at the top.
