Some dramas build tension slowly. Others throw their lead off a drainage pipe by episode three. KBS 2TV’s “The Husband” is clearly the second kind.
Newly released stills tease a nail-biting escape sequence starring Namkoong Min, who plays Kang Tae Joo, a man on the brink of divorce who suddenly finds himself fighting to save his wife’s life. After a drunken outburst gets him wrongly arrested for his wife’s kidnapping and suspected murder, Kang Tae Joo makes a daring bid for freedom during a station-wide power outage.

Why This Scene Matters
The stills show Kang Tae Joo calmly slipping out of the interrogation room the moment the lights go out, moving swiftly through darkened hallways before racing up a stairwell — only to end up clinging precariously to a single drainage pipe, evading officers below.
According to the production team, the upcoming episode will finally explain why Kang Tae Joo felt he had no choice but to flee, despite knowing he’d be hunted afterward, promising an emotionally intense episode built around sharp psychological shifts and high-stakes action.
This kind of morally gray, wrongfully-accused-man premise has become a recurring favorite within Korean drama, where thrillers often blur the line between victim and suspect to keep audiences guessing until the very end.
Namkoong Min, known for intense, transformation-heavy roles, appears set to deliver another compelling performance — following his recent turn in “The Veil,” now streaming on Viki.
