Ollie Watkin’s spectacular form keeps pace with Haaland & Rashford

Ollie Watkin has been spectacular in the field at present, which has helped Aston Villa to somehow keep up their Premier League status. Aston Villa received Unai Eremy as their new coach a few months back. With the departure of Steven Gerrard, Aston Villa has brought Emery to save their EPL status, and things have been a bit slightly better since then.

Under his reign, Aston Villa has experienced a strong start, and even the coach himself has stated that he wants to take Aston Villa back to Europe. Primarily this type of form from Ollie Watkin is not focused a lot and seems to be overshadowed by the performances of Haaland and Rashford.

Ollie Watkin being a major card

Among the major reason why Aston Villa has been bettering a little bit at present is due to the spectacular performance of Ollie Watkin. He has been like a goal-scoring machine under Emery who came to the club from Brentford in 2020. The English striker is the most in-form striker in the whole Premier League, scoring six goals in seven games, and only Erling Haaland and Marcus Rashford have been able to match the stat.

Unai Emery in this regard

Unai Emery in regard to Ollie Watkin said that he wants more every day and sometimes they have to hold him back. Ollie Watkin is very competitive and every day at training when they are finishing he wants to take more exercises and wants to do more individually, with the coaches. His mentality is very good, and they have to stop him sometimes by telling him that today is enough.

In his mind, they have to keep this mentality because it is primarily good for him, as well as for the team and that spirit is the best, added Eremy. The coach also said that he wants to help him too, and tries to support him with his experiences with strikers and administer him the confidence to do more.
