Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti gets pushed to mid-April

Nvidia’s RTX 30 series has been released and we are already seeing a lot of high-performance benchmark reviews of the new GPU. Although, it is a fact that Nvidia is currently crippled with supply constraints and also that the company is making its effort to make sure that it produces an adequate amount of cards. Nonetheless, the global chip shortage is a severe issue.

Owing to the supply issues, the launch of RTX 3080 Ti has been delayed even further, with us now receiving the news that the company’s upcoming GA102 card will have a mid-April release date and will also have some reduction in CUDA core counts.

Originally, the card was supposed to release in January, but got pushed to February and now finally, to mid-April. It seems that the chip crisis has hit the green team very hard. sources are “almost certain” that the RTX 3080 Ti will have a mid-April launch date.

Initially, it was believed that the card will be equipped with 20 GB of GDDR6X memory, but the more recent rumors suggest a 12 GB GDDR6X possibility. To add salt to the wound, we don’t even have the exact specifications of the RTX 3080 Ti with us, and we are also hearing that NVIDIA may offer just 10,240 CUDA cores on the RTX 3080 Ti as opposed to the initial speculation of 10,496 CUDA cores.

Recent sources also confirm that the RTX 3060, is also expected to implement a cryptocurrency hash rate limiter. With the RTX 3080 Ti expected to arrive approximately eight months after the original RTX 3080 launch, we hope that supply constraints would largely ease by then. But nothing is certain as of yet.
